25 Feb 18: British Dressage test changes for 2018

  • Prelim 17 and Novice 35 withdrawn
  • All three Young Horse tests replaced
  • BYRDS renamed BD Youth and all existing tests reviewed
  • Three new BD Youth tests

    Prelm 17 and Novice 35 have been withdrawn and replaced by new tests Prelim 17A and Novice 35A (issued last year).

    Young Horse tests YHB4, YHE5 and YHM6 have all been withdrawn and replaced by three new tests branded as National. They are:

  • National 4 yr old test (replaces YHB4)
  • National 5 yr old test (replaces YHE5)
  • National 6 yr test (replaces YHM6)

    BYRDS has been renamed BD Youth and all the existing Squad test sheets reissued with the new branding. There are a few minor changes to the movements. If you already have diagram versions of Squad tests, you should immediately print them again for free. Affected tests are

  • • A Squad Rider Test 1 (2013 updated 2018)
  • A Squad Rider Test 2 (2013 updated 2018)
  • A Squad Rider Test 3 (2004 updated 2018)
  • B Squad Rider Test 1 (2006 updated 2018)
  • B Squad Rider Test 2 (2011 updated 2018)
  • C Squad Rider Test 1 (2010 updated 2018)
  • U12 Squad Rider Test 1 (2005 updated 2018) (was called Fledgling)

    There are also three new BD Youth tests, available to buy on the website:

  • A Squad Young Horse Rider Test 5/6yo (2018)
  • B Squad Rider Test 3 (2018)
  • B+ Squad Rider Test 1 (2018)
